This colourful set of 60 laminated flashcards, provide easy reinforcement for the new sounds and letter combinations taught in book 4 and the previous books. Colour coordinated with book 4, these cards can be used as a stand alone set. They include the five basic vowel sounds from Book 1 and the sounds taught in Book 2 and 3, along with all the new book 4 sounds. It is highly recommended that you use this flashcard set during book 4 and on into book 5. The structure of the revision sounds presented in book 4 is done in such a way as to bring to the child’s attention the different ways we can write the same vowel sound. This is very useful, particularly for spelling. However the downside is, that each sound set can be thoughtlessly parroted off. Alternating the book lists with flashcards overcomes this disadvantage.
